Cable Car Journey
Our cruise starts with boarding the panoramic cabin, which can accommodate a maximum of 80 people and is equipped with large windows.
Our adventure of about 10 minutes will take us from the lower station, which is 726 meters above sea level, to the summit station, which is 2.365 meters high. In the meantime, we pass over the rope poles, each of which has a height of approximately 55-60m.
The height, where the tree cover ends and the pure limestone surface of the mountain begins to be seen, starts at Tahtalı Mountain, approximately 1,900 m above sea level.
Meanwhile, the structure of the mountain mass, which has become more evident, allows you to read its geological history.
The vein structure of mountain rocks being vertical in many places gives us important clues about the formation of this magnificent landscape. Here, in a geological time span covering millions of years, the sediments that formed the floor of the Tethys Sea turned into limestone over time. As the African Continental plate was loaded onto the Euro-Asian plate with tremendous force, this ground crumpled and became vertical.
The foot foundations of the top rope post are very prominent, firmly embedded in the rock. These strong pedestals, which are reinforced with steel and manufactured with high-strength concrete, were installed in the same way on other poles.
The length of the rope stretching between the third and fourth pillars crosses a steep valley with a width of approximately 1,600m and a depth of 300m.
Security
The management of Olympos Cable Car is aware of its responsibility for the visitors who spend time in the facility. Apart from our personnel responsible for the technical installation operated in the Olympos Cable Car, the summit station manager, who has been trained in Alpine rescue techniques, is responsible for the functionality of the safety equipment on the summit and the safety of the visitors. An independent control authority appointed by us monitors the safety of human and technical infrastructure in the facility in accordance with legal regulations. For facility security, we commissioned the reputable ORSA company in Antalya to coordinate with the local Gendarmerie and law enforcement, as well as public order and security services.
First Aid
There are first aid personnel, rescue and first aid equipment, in case of any case, at the bottom and top stations, as well as a fully automatic heart defibrillator at both stations.
