Child- and Family-Friendly Airport
Travelling through the child- and family-friendly Istanbul Airport is hassle-free — and fun.
As part of our “Child- and Family-Friendly Airport” concept, we celebrate National Sovereignty and Children’s Day every year on April 23 with special enthusiasm. Last year, we released our video “Now is the Time for Children to Fly” with the aim of making the travel experience for families with children even more enjoyable. In the sequel “The Children Fly The Nest”, you’ll see children and parents switch roles: children find their way around the terminal so confidently that they can even accompany and guide their parents. We hope you never lose your inner child. http://travelassistant24.com

According to data from the International Energy Agency, around 860 million people had no access to electricity in 2018. A large share of those who gained access to electricity in recent years live in Asia. In parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, many people still do not have reliable access to electricity and are forced to use expensive fuels to meet basic needs after sunset.

Eco-Bike: Kinetic Energy
One practical way to generate energy is through kinetic power produced by bicycles. When the rider pedals, energy is generated and drives a connected gearbox.
Remember:
As you pedal on this Eco-Bike for a healthier life, please also remember how important “energy” is for humanity.
How can you benefit?
If you pedal for 10 minutes, you can receive special discounts in Duty Free and food & beverage areas.
Also — for a healthier life:
Pedaling for 10 minutes burns around 100 calories and supports your health. If 1,000 people pedal for just 10 minutes, enough electricity can be produced to power 5 households for one month.
WARNING!
If you have any of the health conditions listed below, please do not use the bicycle:
1. Severe back and neck problems
2. Hip, knee, or ankle problems
3. Severe shoulder problems
4. History of heart attack
5. Heart failure
6. Cardiac arrhythmias
7. Heart valve diseases
8. Coronary stent / bypass surgery
9. Epilepsy
10. Blood pressure disorders
11. Congenital heart disease
12. Chronic lung disease (COPD and/or asthma)
Bicycle – Quick Guide
- Please take a seat on the bicycle.
- Connect your phone to the USB port. If your phone supports wireless charging, place it in the wireless charging area.
- Start pedaling and continue for about 10 minutes.
- If you stop pedaling, the system restarts.
- While pedaling, the LED lights illuminate one by one and move upward.
- When it reaches the top, a ticket is issued.
- The ticket is dispensed from the slot under the seat.
- Please keep the ticket to receive discounts at the designated locations.
Transportation
Taxi
Taxi service at Istanbul Airport is available 24/7. There are three taxi types: black taxis (Type “E”), blue taxis (Type “D”), and orange taxis (Type “C”).
Passengers can use taxis at the main taxi stands located at the passenger exit doors of the Plaza area (domestic and international flights), as well as on the departures level (2nd floor).
Taxis affiliated with the Istanbul Airport Taxi Drivers’ Cooperative operate according to the taximeter tariff regulated by UKOME.
To meet demand for vehicles with larger trunks, higher passenger capacity (8+1), more legroom, and premium features, UKOME has defined separate tariffs for upper-segment taxis in turquoise and black. Therefore, turquoise taxi fares are 15% higher than orange taxi fares, and black luxury taxi fares are 70% higher than orange taxi fares.
- The listed tariffs apply 24/7 (day and night operation). No additional fees may be charged beyond those included in the tariff.
- All bridge tolls, bus terminal exit fees, and highway tolls are paid by the customer.
- If the passenger requests use of the Eurasia Tunnel when crossing between the European and Anatolian sides of the city, they also pay the return toll for the taxi’s trip back to the Anatolian side (15 July Martyrs Bridge or Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge), in addition to the Eurasia Tunnel toll.
HAVAIST
Transportation between the airport and the city center is provided via 10 HAVAIST routes. The bus frequency is continuously adjusted according to flight numbers and passenger density.
IETT
Transportation between the airport and the city center is provided via 6 IETT lines. The bus frequency is continuously adjusted according to flight numbers and passenger density.
IETT buses operating at the airport are accessible for wheelchair users.

10.11.2025Hey there I’m flying with SunExpress from London Gatwick to Antalya next week. Do I really need to print my boarding pass or can I just show it on my phone?

09.11.2025Hey everyone
I’m flying out from Manchester to Antalya next week with TUI Airways. I’ve done online check-in (got my boarding passes already) — but I’m not sure when I should actually show up at the airport. Do I still need to be there 3 hours before, or can I chill a bit since I’ve already checked in?
Cheers,
MarkJ

08.11.2025With SunExpress, you can check in online 36 hours before the flight — but if you’ve got sports gear or extra baggage, you must still go to the special luggage desk. I once carried scuba gear; it needed manual tagging.

08.11.2025Yup – I travel with Titan Airways for my company charters. They open counters about 3 h before take-off and close strictly 45 min before. Online check-in doesn’t change that because passports still get manually checked.

08.11.2025Hi Mark!
I flew last month with TUI to DLM – they still recommend 2½ to 3 hours before departure, especially on weekends. Even if you’re checked in online, bag-drop lines can be huge. Once I arrived just 90 min before and it was too close for comfort!

08.11.2025Namaste I’m flying from Manchester to Antalya next week. Is there a way to add extra luggage weight online before check-in?

07.11.2025Hey, just saying – if you’re flying during summer, give yourself extra time. I got stuck in a 45-minute queue at security in Gatwick – nothing to do with the airline, just chaos. Even though I’d checked in online, I was running to the gate

07.11.2025For TUI and Jet2 flights, there’s Self Bag Drop now in some UK airports – super easy if you’ve checked in online. But you still need to be there early because bag drop closes 60 min before departure. Don’t risk it – Antalya gates can be far!

05.11.2025I had a night flight to Antalya and was worried about safety & taxis — but it was totally fine! I booked an airport transfer via Travelassistant24.com, fixed price, English-speaking driver, smooth service and cheaper than random taxis outside.

01.06.2024Hello, our tour operator informed us that they will pick up us 5 hours earlier for the return flight transfer to . The drive from Side to takes just over an hour. When I complained, the representative told me that they drive to several hotels and therefore had to pick us up early. Well, if I have booked a shuttle transfer I have to accept it willy-nilly :(
We have now decided to take a private transfer from our hotel to Istanbul Airport. Which transfer company can you recommend to me? And what would such a transfer to the approximately cost?
