Modern glasses at a great price
First of all about the price, the statement made at the beginning is not fictional. We recently paid more for a couple meal at home than we did for glasses in Turkey and we weren't in a fancy restaurant. The glasses were also not a “brand unsightly till frame”, they rather brought compliments such as: “where did you get the chic glasses from” or “what do you think your new glasses look good for”.
Here you will find opticians
In the popular holiday resorts on the Turkish Riviera there are many opticians with a wide range of glasses, contact lenses and sunglasses. The optics shops are close together. So you can use an exploration tour in the pedestrian zones to find out about the offers. You can find more glasses stores in the large shopping centers.
Compare the offers
Bring the prescription of your eye doctor with you on vacation, Turkish opticians have no problem with the values specified in it. Of course, if you know the strength of your glasses, this is not necessary. Take a look at the shop displays and ask the price in one or the other shop, so that you get a feel for what a pair of glasses will cost.
You have to consider this when buying glasses
If you need normal glasses, buying glasses on vacation is not a problem. So far, only good things have been heard about glasses with normal lenses that were bought in Turkey. But you need to know that many opticians can usually not guarantee the glasses or the frame. Tourists who bought glasses with progressive lenses from non-reputable opticians in Turkey were sometimes not satisfied with it. We cannot judge whether this was due to the performance of the optician or the unusual wearing of progressive lenses.
